Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Scott Page (ranked 7253 p4p, 0 weight class) and Free Agent Steel Penn (ranked 3037 p4p, 0 weight class). Page comes to the cage accompanied by Suspicious Minds. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Scott Page! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Free Agent Steel Penn! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Page closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Steel Penn to the mat! Steel Penn manages to get full guard. Steel Penn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Page trying to control the position from guard on top but Steel Penn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Page is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Page won't allow Steel Penn to sweep him here. Steel Penn is controlling Page's posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Page trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Page is fighting to break Steel Penn's control of his arms but Steel Penn is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Page won't allow Steel Penn to get back to his feet.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Page shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Page is standing up over Steel Penn. Steel Penn looks to escape but Page dives into side control.
You can see the frustration on Steel Penn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Steel Penn looking for a sweep but Page has passed into full mount! Oh no! Page goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Steel Penn is on top in guard.
Page is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Page is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Steel Penn throws a strike but Page rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Steel Penn trying to control the position here. Page will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Steel Penn looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Page wants to get up but he can't break Steel Penn's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Steel Penn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Page defends it easily. Steel Penn being controlled here, momentarily. Steel Penn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Page is aware though and is defending well. Steel Penn is looking to stand up but Page isn't so interested in that idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Page tries to stand but Steel Penn is controlling from the bottom. Steel Penn is controlling Page's posture. Steel Penn wants to hit a switch here but Page passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Steel Penn there! Steel Penn is looking to improve his position but Page isn't that keen on the idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's one minute gone in the round. Page engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Page really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Page throws a big elbow that misses. Steel Penn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Page can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Page is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Steel Penn can do to turn this around? Page stopping the sweep attempt from Steel Penn. Steel Penn keeping moving, preventing Page from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Steel Penn looking for a sweep. Not yet Steel Penn, not yet. Steel Penn is adopting a defensive guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Steel Penn throws a series of punches but Page moves out of range. Free Agent Steel Penn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Steel Penn circles away from the clinch attempt.

Page changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Steel Penn looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Steel Penn sneaks out the side door and pushes Page away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Sloppy strikes from Steel Penn. Those never looked like landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel Penn throws a right hand that misses
and Page counters with a two punch combo. No joy there for Steel Penn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Page seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Steel Penn throws a lazy right hand but Page sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Steel Penn misses with a few strikes there.
Page tries to counter with a takedown but Steel Penn is quick to defend against it. Page shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Steel Penn napping and manages to drive through into side control! Page stands up. Steel Penn's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Steel Penn duly obliges. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A kick lands to the mid section there for Page. Steel Penn misses with a hook
and Page counters with a nice uppercut. Page drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Page trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Steel Penn controls Page momentarily but Page frees himself. Steel Penn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Page is one step ahead there. Steel Penn pulls Page in close to prevent any damage. Page got a little sloppy there for a moment and Steel Penn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Page has managed to get both his arms back between Steel Penn's legs - danger averted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Free Agent Steel Penn will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Page throws a punch but it's blocked by Steel Penn. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Steel Penn has Page pressed against the cage, preventing Page from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Page misses with a hook to the ribs.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Steel Penn in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Page is trying to break free. Page has clasped his hands together around Steel Penn's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

A little jabbing left from Steel Penn on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Steel Penn is looking to clinch. Page gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Page ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Page no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Steel Penn tries to stand but Page is controlling from the bottom. Steel Penn looking to improve position, pressing down on Page's thigh with his hand. Page seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Steel Penn paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Steel Penn's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Page picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
