Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rico swuave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Squires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Squires fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. swuave sprawls well initially but Squires persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Squires in particular looking to stall.
swuave is not content to let Squires control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Despite being in the dominant position, Frank Squires just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Squires feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

swuave had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Squires is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. swuave Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Squires's back instead.
