Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cesar Colnago (ranked 614 p4p, 70 weight class) and Hamish McTavish (ranked 1733 p4p, 181 weight class). Cesar Colnago has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cesar Colnago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hamish McTavish!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jorge Garcia and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Colnago misses with a hook.

Colnago rushes McTavish and presses him up against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Colnago as the two fighters clinch.
McTavish is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Colnago gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Colnago is defending well against a takedown attempt.
McTavish jumps guard but Colnago turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Cesar Colnago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hamish McTavish.
Colnago is pressed up against the cage. McTavish has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Colnago down to the mat. Colnago avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
McTavish throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Colnago moves into range and clinches up with McTavish.
Colnago presses McTavish against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Colnago creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Colnago lands an uppercut.
McTavish tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Colnago lands with a right to the head.
Colnago scores with a shot to the side of McTavish's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McTavish wants to break free but Colnago has control.

A quick uppercut on the inside from Colnago.
Colnago throws a blind hook that connects with the side of McTavishs head.
McTavish is trying to force a seperation but Colnago has the dominant position.

McTavish can't break the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Colnago.
McTavish is trying to pull guard but Colnago has him pressed against the cage.
Colnago lands with a left to the head.
McTavish is trying to drag Colnago to the mat but Colnago just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
McTavish working hard to break the clinch.
McTavish wants to break free but Colnago has control.
McTavish is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
McTavish can't find room to land a body shot as Colnago controls the action.
McTavish wants a takedown.

Colnago scores with a hook to the body.

McTavish pulls guard successfully.
Colnago looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
McTavish is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McTavish slips a nice elbow through Colnago's hands, connecting with Colnago's forehead.
Colnago might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McTavish thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Colnago's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McTavish not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
McTavish thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
McTavish not landing any meaningful shots this time.
McTavish stalling.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McTavish connects with a nice short shot to Colnago's temple.
Colnago on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Colnago tries to get out of the position.
McTavish not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
McTavish thows a huge punch but Colnago dodges it nicely.
Colnago has hold of McTavish's hands but McTavish slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Nice strikes from McTavish there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McTavish is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
McTavish is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
McTavish is figuring out what he wants to do next.
McTavish scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
McTavish lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
McTavish wants to free his trapped foot but Colnago is holding on for dear life with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cesar Colnago dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Colnago moves to clinch but McTavish breaks away

so McTavish counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
McTavish stands and throws Colnago's legs to the side, diving into side control.
McTavish looks up at the clock and then as Colnago takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, McTavish smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Check out the look on McTavish's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Colnago knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McTavish on the ground.
Colnago seems a little lost for a moment, as McTavish dominates the positioning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McTavish thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hamish McTavish has got the better of the ground game so far.
McTavish in side control lands a decent elbow.
McTavish landing a few strikes.


Colnago is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McTavish lands a strong strike to the head of Colnago. That's dazed him! McTavish looking to finish here. Colnago is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - McTavish lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hamish McTavish!
Hamish McTavish spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
