Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jax Thomas (ranked 46 p4p, 7 weight class) and Klaus Chugman (ranked 169 p4p, 21 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Thomas might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Killing is my business, and business is good! - Megadeth. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chugman pushes Thomas up against the cage in a clinch. Chugman tries to pull guard but Thomas won't allow it.
Chugman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chugman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thomas avoids it really well and circles away. Thomas appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Thomas looks to throw the jab but Chugman is out of range. And Chugman tries to counter it with a takedown but Thomas pushes his down on his head and steps out. Jax Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thomas lands a really nice looking cross but Chugman seems unphased.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chugman shoots and misses and Thomas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jax Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Klaus Chugman. Thomas throws a body shot but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas takes a swing at Chugman's ribcage but misses. Chugman shoots in for a takedown but Thomas shows good takedown defense. Thomas swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Thomas throws a hook but Chugman blocks it. Thomas throws a wild body kick that Chugman sees coming a mile off. Chugman is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Thomas throws a series of punches but Chugman moves out of range. Chugman has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Chugman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thomas.
Horrible takedown attempt by Chugman or perhaps it was just good defense by Thomas, which made it look bad.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas tries to bum rush Chugman with a series of wild strikes but Chugman uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Thomas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Chugman.

Chugman gets a clinch. Chugman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Thomas just stands there and leans against the cage. Thomas lands with a short head shot on the inside. Thomas lands a hook that snaps the head of Chugman backwards.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chugman has Thomas pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Thomas manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Thomas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A low kick from Thomas is predictable there and Chugman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Thomas's guard. Chugman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Thomas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chugman's guard.
Chugman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thomas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Chugman wants to sweep but no luck.

Chugman looking for a sweep. Not yet Chugman, not yet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thomas is pushing down on Chugman's leg trying to pass to half guard. Chugman is fighting to maintain full guard but Thomas has managed to sneak the leg through. Chugman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Thomas definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Thomas is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Thomas wants to free his trapped foot but Chugman is holding on for dear life with his legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chugman fails with the takedown. Chugman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Thomas throws out the jab. Thomas throws a sloppy head kick and Chugman moves out of range easily. It looked like Thomas was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Thomas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jax Thomas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Thomas throws a right and a left that Chugman avoids nicely. Chugman tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Thomas defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chugman. Chugman avoids the body shot from Thomas.
Chugman with the counter takedown but Thomas avoids it easily. Thomas connects with a body shot that sends Chugman's belly button to the back. Thomas lands a nice shot that snaps Chugman's head back.

Chugman is rocked! Chugman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Thomas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Thomas is looking for a counter combo. Chugman throws a body shot but no joy. Thomas throws a big counter combination but Chugman scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Thomas misses with the combination.
Chugman is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Thomas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chugman keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Thomas. Chugman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Thomas circles away. Thomas was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Jax Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Klaus Chugman. Thomas throws a hook but Chugman avoids it easily. Thomas throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Chugman goes for a double leg but Thomas avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Thomas continues to drive forward. Chugman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Thomas finds it's way round the side to connect with Chugman's head.

Chugman jumps guard but Thomas turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Thomas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chugman can do to turn this around? Chugman is looking to break free of the clinch but Thomas has double underhooks. Thomas keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Chugman's efforts to push away. Chugman pulls guard effortlessly. Thomas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chugman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thomas has managed to get both his arms back between Chugman's legs - danger averted. Thomas's corner is telling him to maintain position. Thomas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Thomas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Chugman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Thomas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Chugman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Chugman has an active guard here but Thomas has managed to pass into half guard.

Chugman is pressing down on Thomas's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Chugman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thomas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thomas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thomas wants to pass the guard but Chugman is keeping the position. Thomas is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Thomas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Thomas stays in close to Chugman's body and controls the position.

Thomas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Chugman keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Chugman with the active half guard here but Thomas passes nicely into side control. Chugman is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Chugman is still trying to improve position.

Chugman is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Thomas is defending well though. Chugman let's go of the attempt for now. Chugman working for a choke but Thomas is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chugman is looking for a rear naked choke here but Thomas reverses the position brilliantly into Chugman's guard!

A little feinted left hand from Thomas on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Thomas drops Chugman with a beautiful combination! Chugman stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Thomas is looking for the KO! Chugman is still on wobbly legs! Can Thomas finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Thomas. Chugman shrugs it off though. Chugman throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Thomas counters with a huge left! Chugman is in big trouble! He's backing up but Thomas isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Chugman from any more damage. A dominating finish by Thomas!
