9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Santu Avisu Kona! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Avisu Kona cracks Friedman with a good jab.
It looks like Milton Friedman has been cut. Avisu Kona misses with a jab to the body
and Friedman counters with a takedown into side control. We've been hearing that Friedman has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Avisu Kona avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Friedman. Friedman working the head and body with strikes. Avisu Kona is working to avoid the ground and pound but Friedman connects with a decent elbow. Avisu Kona regains half guard, as Friedman was trying to land strikes. Friedman is thwarting Avisu Kona's attempts to control the position. Friedman missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Avisu Kona regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Friedman. Friedman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Friedman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Avisu Kona utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Friedman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Avisu Kona keeping full guard, as Friedman tries to pass. Friedman throwing strikes but missing. Avisu Kona appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Friedman shoots and misses and Friedman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. and Avisu Kona counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Friedman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Avisu Kona as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milton Friedman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Avisu Kona cracks Friedman with a right hand to the side of the head. Friedman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Avisu Kona sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Avisu Kona connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Friedman shoots in looking for a takedown but Avisu Kona manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Friedman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Avisu Kona blocks a jab. Avisu Kona takes a shot right to the bread basket. Friedman shoots in for a takedown but Avisu Kona shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Avisu Kona throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Friedman sees it coming and avoids it easily. Avisu Kona throws an off balance right hand
and Friedman counters with a nice double leg into guard. Avisu Kona is trying to control the position but Friedman postures up. Avisu Kona preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Friedman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Avisu Kona works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Friedman loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Friedman connects with a couple of short punches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Friedman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Avisu Kona sprawls well. Avisu Kona wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Friedman gets slowly back to his feet. Avisu Kona keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Good exchange - Avisu Kona coming out on top. Avisu Kona wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Friedman swings widly with a right hand
and Avisu Kona counters with a nice right hand that sends Friedman toppling to the canvas! Friedman scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Avisu Kona finish him?!
Friedman is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Friedman tries for a takedown but Avisu Kona circles away easily and Avisu Kona counters with a right hand from hell and Friedman is out cold! A vicious knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Santu Avisu Kona! Santu Avisu Kona is the new heavyweight champion! Santu Avisu Kona decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
