Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Randall Couture!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anderson Silva Jr!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva Jr punishes Couture's body with a nice straight punch.
Couture throws a right hand that Silva Jr ducks under and follows up with a left that Silva Jr also avoids with ease.
Couture tries to clinch but Silva Jr moves out of range.
Couture closes the distance and clinches.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Couture creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Silva Jr lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Couture backwards.

I was talking to Couture's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Couture lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Silva Jr backwards.
Couture is working for takedown but Silva Jr is calmly controlling the position for now.

It looks like Anderson Silva Jr has been cut.
Couture has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Silva Jr is trying to keep an underhook but Couture manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Silva Jr makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Silva Jr.
Silva Jr isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Couture stacks Silva Jr on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Couture!
Couture wants to control but Silva Jr is keeping him busy.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Randall Couture will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Anderson Silva Jr's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Couture throws a right and a left that both miss.

Couture avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Couture tries to clinch but Silva Jr is having none of it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Silva Jr! But no joy.
The fighters circling - Couture throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Silva Jr misses with an uppercut
and Couture counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Silva Jr thinking.
Couture lands a nice shot that snaps Silva Jr's head back.
Oooooh!!! Couture has knocked Silva Jr down with a huge combo! Couture steps away and waves a wobbly Silva Jr back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Silva Jr is rocked!
Anderson Silva Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Couture cracks Silva Jr with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Silva Jr tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Couture pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Silva Jr is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Randall Couture!
