Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Crack Head! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Maximilian Kirby! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Head stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kirby. Kirby lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Head tries to clinch up but Kirby circles away and keeps his distance. Kirby jabbing away but nothing is landing. Nice takedown defense from Kirby. No joy for Head on that attempt. Head dives in and scores a takedown into Kirby's guard. Kirby is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Head defends well. Head wants to control from the top but Kirby keeps moving. Head is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kirby is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Kirby keeping full guard, as Head tries to pass. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kirby is looking for a triangle but Head pushes his legs off easily.
Head avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kirby had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Head defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirby has a closed guard, preventing Head from standing up. Kirby looking to hit a scissor sweep but Head is one step ahead there. Head got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kirby has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Head has managed to get both his arms back between Kirby's legs - danger averted. Head thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kirby looking to hit a scissor sweep but Head is one step ahead there. Head scoring with punches to the head and body. Head cracks Kirby with a solid left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Head wants to stand but Kirby is controlling his posture from full guard. Kirby looking to hit a scissor sweep but Head is one step ahead there. Head is in close to Kirby's body, working some short punches and elbows. Kirby wants to sweep here but Head controlling him for the moment. Head stands and throws Kirby's legs to the side, diving into side control. The ground and pound from Head seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Kirby can't do much from the bottom here. Kirby is trying to improve his position. Kirby regains half guard there - taking advantage of Head's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Head misses with a head shot. Kirby uses the momentum to regain guard. Kirby preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Head postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Head got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kirby has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Head has managed to get both his arms back between Kirby's legs - danger averted. Head lands a couple of decent looking shots. Head throwing strikes from guard but Kirby blocks nicely. Kirby is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kirby can do anything to dispel that myth. Head with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Head wants to control from the top but Kirby keeps moving. Head stopping the sweep attempt from Kirby.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Head works over Kirby with some ground and pound from guard. Kirby is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kirby trying to control the position.
Head wants to control from the top but Kirby keeps moving. Kirby tries to land a sweep but no joy. Head is in close to Kirby's body, working some short punches and elbows. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kirby wants to sweep but no luck. Head looking to pass the guard. Head working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Crack Head will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Kirby throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A looping hook to the body misses from Kirby. Head does a little dance to reset his feet. Head tries to clinch up. Kirby lands a really nice looking cross but Head seems unphased.
Kirby scores with a nice strike. Head takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A chopping leg kick lands by Kirby. Kirby throws a head kick that misses. Head seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Head closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Kirby is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Head is defending well. Head manages to break the clinch.
Head tries for a takedown but Kirby circles away easily and Kirby counters with an outside leg kick.
Kirby is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Head tries to clinch but Kirby moves out of range. Crack Head is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kirby throws a low kick, looking for Head's leg but Head calmly moves out of range. Kirby connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Kirby dips to his left and cracks Head with an uppercut! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Head shoots in for a double leg but Kirby sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Head clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirby avoids the elbow strike from Head, against the cage.
Kirby changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Head fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Nice uppercut lands for Kirby. That snapped Head's head back.
Head shoots in for a double leg but Kirby sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Crack Head. That's going to take a lot out of him. Head closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kirby quickly recovers to half guard. Kirby manages to get to full guard.
Head gets to his feet. Kirby looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Head blocks a head kick by Kirby.
Head on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kirby. Kirby obviously looking to wear him down.
Kirby swats away the attempt to clinch by Head. Head will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kirby lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kirby feints and then cracks Head's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Head down. Maximilian Kirby seems to be getting the better of the standup. This has been an exciting period of action! Kirby misses with an attempted mid kick.
Kirby keeps the fight on the outside. Kirby misses with a straight left. Head throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kirby sees it coming and avoids it easily. Kirby throws a nice outside leg kick. Kirby lands with an overhand left. Kirby uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Head. Head tries to clinch but Kirby is having none of it. Head misses with the combination.
Kirby uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Head has time to react. Head fails with a takedown attempt. Head moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromKirby. Head shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kirby as he jumps to the side.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Head tries to clinch but Kirby moves out of range. Kirby has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Head tries to close the distance and clinch but Kirby swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Head shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kirby sprawls well. Kirby wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Head gets slowly back to his feet. As Head backs off Kirby throws a huge counter combo but Head manages to avoid it all. Head fails in his attempt to clinch. Kirby has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Head fails in his attempt to clinch. Kirby has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Kirby works the jab nicely. Kirby misses with a head kick.
Kirby tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Head uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kirby.
Kirby lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Kirby tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kirby goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Head tries to close the distance and clinch but Kirby swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kirby throws a leg kick which misses Head's front leg but catches the back leg as Head tries to avoid it. Kirby throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kirby avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kirby throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kirby takes a kick to the side of the head. Head looks for a takedown but Kirby sprawls well. Jab, jab by Kirby - just one landing. Head tries to clinch up. Head tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kirby sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Head somewhat. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kirby lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Head has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Head and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Head pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Maximilian Kirby showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Kirby throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A left lands for Kirby. Kirby tries a head kick but it misses.
Kirby throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Head's head. Kirby throws a right and a left that both miss. Head tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kirby manages to circle out of the way. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Kirby fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Head tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Head is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Head is defended easily by Kirby. Head moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromKirby. A head kick from Kirby lands but Head takes it in his stride. Kirby swats away the attempt to clinch by Head. A head kick misses from Kirby. Kirby throws a nice outside leg kick. Kirby lands a head shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Head looks for a takedown but Kirby sprawls well.

Head drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kirby sprawls and moves away. Kirby goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Head takes one to the side of the head.

Oh Head is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! BOOM! Kirby lands a beautiful left hook that drops Head. Head tries to recover but Kirby is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Head lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
