The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Andrade drops Powers with a beautiful combination! Powers stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - De Andrade is looking for the KO!

Powers is rocked!

It looks like JJ Powers has been cut.
Powers misses with a double jab.
An attempted straight right counter from De Andrade misses the target.
Powers is still on wobbly legs! Can De Andrade finish him?
Powers throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and De Andrade moves into the clinch.
Powers seems to have recovered his senses.
De Andrade digs a right hand into Powers's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Powers's gas tank.
A nice left hand lands by De Andrade.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Powers is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
De Andrade lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Powers throws an elbow but it's blocked.
De Andrade lands with a left to the head.
De Andrade is leaning against Powers and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

De Andrade gets underhooks to prevent Powers's takedown attempt.
Marcelo Costa De Andrade has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JJ Powers.

De Andrade breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Powers throws a shot from downtown. De Andrade moves away and avoids it.
De Andrade seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Powers throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around De Andrade's waist but De Andrade gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Powers off to one side.
Powers has his takedown stuffed
and De Andrade counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Powers badly! De Andrade follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Powers out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as De Andrade finished him against the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Marcelo Costa De Andrade!
A relieved looking Marcelo Costa De Andrade thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
