Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Peterson (ranked 2393 p4p, 337 weight class) and Jacek Kaniecki (ranked 3413 p4p, 435 weight class). Jacek Kaniecki is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jacek Kaniecki! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Chris Dean and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kaniecki doesn't seem bothered though. Peterson closes the distance and pushes Kaniecki back into the cage. Peterson throws a punch but it's blocked by Kaniecki. Peterson lands with a right to the head. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Peterson. Peterson tries to work over Kaniecki's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Peterson scores with a shot to the side of Kaniecki's head. Peterson lands a hook that snaps the head of Kaniecki backwards. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Peterson. Peterson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kaniecki throws the left hand but Peterson avoids the punch easily. Peterson drives through and clinches with Kaniecki against the cage.
A short right from Peterson. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kaniecki. Kaniecki takes a shot to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Peterson lands a body punch. Kaniecki will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Peterson up against the cage. Kaniecki tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Peterson avoids it. Kaniecki is trying to stall.
Kaniecki is looking to control Peterson's arms but Peterson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kaniecki has his back to the cage. Peterson is working Kaniecki over against the cage. A short right from Peterson. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Peterson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Peterson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Peterson struggles to land a body shot inside as Kaniecki controls his hands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Kaniecki is looking to control Peterson's arms but Peterson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kaniecki has his back to the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Peterson. Peterson lands with a short shot to the head.
Kaniecki is rocked! Kaniecki's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Kaniecki tries to stall but Peterson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jacek Kaniecki. Kaniecki takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Kaniecki has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Peterson is landing a low percentage of strikes. Peterson connects with the punch. Kaniecki is still on wobbly legs! Can Peterson finish him? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Peterson throws a shot to the body.
Kaniecki looks winded! Peterson measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Kaniecki! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). George Peterson! In his post fight interview, George Peterson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
