Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Renee Skakidaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeff Schulpp!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Skakidaki shoots in and gets a takedown into Schulpp's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Schulpp seems keen to control Skakidaki's posture.
Schulpp's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Skakidaki drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Skakidaki jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Schulpp is pulling down on Skakidaki's head. It's preventing any offense from Skakidaki, at least for the moment.
Skakidaki has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Skakidaki shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Schulpp actively working from the bottom here.
Schulpp preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The fighters are battling for position here. Schulpp manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Let's hope that Schulpp has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Schulpp has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Skakidaki doesn't defend quickly enough and Schulpp has managed to lock this one up! Can Skakidaki escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Schulpp on a fantastic submission victory.
