Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chi Berry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Mills! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mills shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mills was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Mills wants to stand but Berry has his arm trapped. Mills trying to control the position but Berry is working away. Mills decides to stand back up. Mills shoots in and gets a takedown into Berry's guard. Berry looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mills is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mills avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mills got a little sloppy there for a moment and Berry has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mills has managed to get both his arms back between Berry's legs - danger averted. Mills engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Mills is pushing down on Berry's leg trying to pass to half guard. Berry is fighting to maintain full guard but Mills has managed to sneak the leg through. Mills is just content to waste time from the top position. Berry takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Berry keeping moving, preventing Mills from controlling successfully. Berry could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Mills looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Berry will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Berry looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Mills gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Berry. Mills shrugs it off though. Berry closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mills did well to prevent Berry getting side control. Berry working the head and body with strikes. Berry lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Mills trying to control here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Berry throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Berry sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mills defending well though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Berry is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mills doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Berry. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Berry lands a nice short elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mills is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Berry with the ground and pound but Mills uses the opportunity to regain guard. Mills working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Berry. Berry lands a couple of digs. Berry throws a big elbow that misses. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Berry gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Berry shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Berry showed some decent athleticism there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Chi Berry will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mills closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Berry quickly recovers to half guard. Berry tries to get to full guard but Mills has control of the leg. Berry is trying to control but can't.
Berry is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mills is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mills trying to control from half guard but Berry is working away. Berry tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Mills is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Berry trying to hold on to Mills's head to control him but Mills postures up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Mills tries to stand and escape but Berry actually recovers to full guard. Berry trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Berry is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Berry fails to land the takedown. Mills closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Berry quickly recovers to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mills is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Berry doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mills. Mills missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Berry landing rabbit punches to the side of Mills's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points. Berry wants to control but Mills is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Berry shoots in for a takedown but Mills shows good takedown defense. As Berry backs off Mills throws a huge counter combo but Berry manages to avoid it all. Mills scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Mills perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mills is just content to waste time from the top position. Berry takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Mills stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Berry swivels though and keeps the full guard. Berry manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mills manages to get himself to full guard.
Berry decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mills, up you get! Mills has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Excellent takedown into side control there by Berry. Mills tries to improve position but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Mills showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Berry shoots for a double leg takedown but Mills sprawls well. He's pushed Berry's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Berry shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mills as he jumps to the side. Mills scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Mills wants to take a breather but Berry is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brian Mills has got the better of the ground game so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mills sitting and controlling from the half guard. Mills takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Berry flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Berry manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Berry looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mills puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Berry wants to control but Mills is keeping busy.
Berry lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage. Berry is refusing to be controlled, as Mills sits in half guard.

Mills trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mills stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Berry swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mills wants to control from the top but Berry keeps moving. Mills postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Berry lands a decent punch to the body there.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A momentary lapse in concentration from Berry enables Mills to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Berry manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Berry is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Mills on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Berry throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Berry decides to return to a standing position. Mills gets the takedown into side control. Mills laying and praying for a moment but Berry takes advantage and regains half guard. Berry punching from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mills thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Berry's head. Berry is doing well to control the position and prevent Mills from advancing to side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Brian Mills comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mills has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
