Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyle Alzado (ranked 2026 p4p, 195 weight class) and Rick Bomber (ranked 1675 p4p, 167 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lyle Alzado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
47 - 34 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rick Bomber! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alzado uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Alzado throws the left hand but Bomber avoids the punch easily. Bomber looks to land a combination but Alzado avoids it well. It looked like Alzado wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Bomber misses with a wild combination.
Alzado forces Bomber back against the cage and clinches. Bomber breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Bomber looks to land a left hand but Alzado moved out of range nicely. No joy there for Alzado, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bomber tries to bum rush Alzado with a series of wild strikes but Alzado uses good footwork to avoid the assault. No joy there for Alzado, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Bomber throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Alzado clinches up against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bomber blocks a punch to the side of the head.

A short right from Alzado. Bomber pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bomber shoots in looking for a takedown. Alzado tries to sprawl out of it but Bomber keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alzado manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alzado misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Alzado lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bomber circles away quickly and effectively. Alzado pushes Bomber up against the cage in a clinch. Bomber working hard to break the clinch. Bomber blocking some punches.
Alzado blocks a body shot from Bomber. A head punch on the inside from Alzado fails to land. Bomber lands with a right to the head. Alzado fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Bomber escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Alzado takes a swing at Bomber's ribcage but misses. Bomber showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Alzado.
Despite the aggression on Bomber's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. A combination from Bomber does no damage. Bomber misses with an uppercut. Bomber is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Alzado.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alzado bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. An inside leg kick lands from Bomber. Alzado uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bomber. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bomber lands a left and a right that send Alzado crashing to the mat, dazed. Bomber thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Alzado appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Alzado feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bombers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Bomber throws a hook to the side of Alzado's head but Alzado sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Bomber throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Alzado cracks Bomber with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Bomber is rocked! Bomber is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Alzado feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Bomber crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
