PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roderick Turnbull (ranked 1258 p4p, 159 weight class) and Dale Bomber (ranked 2830 p4p, 304 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dale Bomber!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bomber thows a body kick. Turnbull tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Bomber walks into a left hand.
Turnbull seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Bomber rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Turnbull moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bomber takes a swing at Turnbull's ribcage but misses.
Turnbull lands a nice hook to Bomber's body. Bomber takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Bomber has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Bomber gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Turnbull.
Roderick Turnbull seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Turnbull tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bomber manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Bomber thuds his right hand into Turnbull's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Bomber lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Bomber avoids the body shot from Turnbull.
Turnbull lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bomber at a distance.

The crowd cheers as Bomber lands an impressive looking overhand right. Turnbull doesn't seem phased though.

Turnbull fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bomber manages to avoid it.

Turnbull fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bomber has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

The fight stays on the outside here - Turnbull looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The fighters circling - Bomber throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Turnbull. Bomber shrugs it off though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Turnbull.
Bomber drops Turnbull with a straight right hand, right on the button! Bomber follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
