The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a lunging right hand

and Petruzzelli holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Petruzzelli dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Jones is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Petruzzelli is keeping busy.
Petruzzelli doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Petruzzelli has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Petruzzelli throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Durante Alinari Petruzzelli has been cut.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Petruzzelli swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Petruzzelli throws a poor cross that misses
and Jones counters with a good low kick that Petruzzelli was not able to check.
Durante Alinari Petruzzelli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Petruzzelli loads up on a big right hand but Jones slips the punch.
It looked like Jones was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Jones has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones misses with a straight right.
Petruzzelli tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from Petruzzelli.
Petruzzelli looks winded!
Petruzzelli feints a jab promting Jones to slip. Petruzzelli then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jones slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Jones connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Petruzzelli momentarily.

Petruzzelli is rocked!

Jones looks to land a left hand but Petruzzelli moved out of range nicely.
Petruzzelli is looking to clinch.
It looked like Jones wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Petruzzelli slips under a jab from Jones.
Jones throws a right and a left that Petruzzelli avoids nicely.
Jones lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Jones is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Jones went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
A swing and a miss from Jones.
Jones connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Petruzzelli to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Jones!
