Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amauri Fernandes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Amauri Fernandes! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fernandes stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Silva. Silva fails with the takedown. Silva fakes the leg kick and cracks Fernandes in the body. Fernandes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Silva wants to sweep but no luck. Silva is pulling down on Fernandes's head. It's preventing any offense from Fernandes, at least for the moment. Silva controls Fernandes momentarily but Fernandes frees himself. Fernandes in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Silva looking for a sweep. Not yet Silva, not yet. Fernandes throwing strikes from guard but Silva blocks nicely.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Silva fakes the leg kick and cracks Fernandes in the body. Silva throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fernandes. Silva drives through with a takedown into guard. Silva wants to get up but he can't break Fernandes's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Silva throws a strike but Fernandes rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Fernandes postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Silva seems keen to control Fernandes's posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva is breathing heavily. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Fernandes doesn't succeed with the takedown and Silva counters with a good, hard body kick but Fernandes shrugs it off. Fernandes tries for a takedown but Silva circles away easily and Silva counters with a single leg into guard. Fernandes didn't expect that.

Fernandes is working an open guard so Silva takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Silva tries for a takedown but Fernandes circles away easily and Fernandes counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Silva! Fernandes with shots to the head and body - Silva looks very uncomfortable down there. Silva working to try and regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Fernandes scoring with strikes but Silva is staying in there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fernandes scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Fernandes raining down shots from the mount! Fernandes is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Silva can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Fernandes is in the full mount, landing strikes. Silva tries to hold on but Fernandes postures up. Silva taking shots to the head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fernandes working away from the top, dropping strikes. Fernandes with the ground and pound from mount. Fernandes landing strikes from the mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Anderson Silva will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Fernandes looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Silva works his way to full guard. Good work. Fernandes with a flurry of punches that miss. Silva trying to keep a closed guard but Fernandes is proving a slippery customer.
Silva lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fernandes! Silva trying to control but Fernandes is having none of it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fernandes flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fernandes tries to lock up and control but Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Fernandes is trying to escape the mount.
Silva lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Fernandes hang on? Fernandes keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Fernandes swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Silva trying to control but Fernandes is having none of it. Amauri Fernandes has got the better of the ground game so far. Silva lands a nice shot to the head. Silva is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Fernandes has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Fernandes tries to reverse the position but Silva maintains control. Silva blocks Fernandes's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Fernandes regains half guard. Fernandes makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fernandes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fernandes looking for a sweep. Not yet Fernandes, not yet. Silva pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fernandes is keeping the position for now. Fernandes trying to control the position.
Silva won't allow Fernandes to sweep him here. Silva gets to his feet - Fernandes follows without any prompting. Fernandes with a poor takedown and Silva moves into the clinch. Silva can't break the clinch.
Fernandes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Silva clinches up against the cage. Fernandes stops a takedown attempt from Silva.

Fernandes turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Silva gets back to half guard. Silva tries to get to full guard but Fernandes has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Amauri Fernandes will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Silva is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Fernandes is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The fighters are battling for position here. Fernandes manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Fernandes throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Fernandes takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Fernandes manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Fernandes is tying to control. Silva wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Fernandes is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Silva tries to roll over but Fernandes keeps him under control. Fernandes working over Silva with some ground and pound. Silva looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Fernandes not landing any meaningful shots this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Amauri Fernandes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Fernandes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
