The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rodrigo tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Anderson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Rodrigo tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rodrigo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Julio Rodrigo will probably get the nod.
