Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lanny Richardson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Scacchi!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richardson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Scacchi pinned against the cage. Scacchi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Scacchi shoots in and bounces Richardson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Richardson is trying to hold Scacchi in close to prevent damage but Scacchi has managed to pass into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Richardson is staying active underneath Scacchi, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Scacchi is looking to advance position but Richardson won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Scacchi winds up and cracks Richardson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Richardson manages to get to full guard.
Richardson pulls Scacchi in close to his closed guard and prevents Scacchi from doing any damage or advancing position.
Richardson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Richardson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Richardson has a closed guard, preventing Scacchi from standing up.
Richardson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Richardson keeping moving, preventing Scacchi from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scacchi stands up and waves to Richardson to follow him.
Scacchi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Richardson quickly recovers to half guard.
Richardson won't allow Scacchi to pass to mount.
Richardson wants to control but Scacchi passes into side.
Scacchi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Scacchi lands some shots froms side control.
Scacchi trying to control the position but Richardson is working away.
Scacchi decides to take the fight back to the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Scacchi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Scacchi lands a big head kick that sends Richardson tumbling to the mat! Scacchi takes a step backwards and waves Richardson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Richardson is rocked!
It looks like Lanny Richardson has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Scacchi rushes Richardson and presses him up against the cage.
Oh Richardson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Scacchi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Scacchi pushes Richardson up against the cage in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Come on Scacchi - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Scacchi breaks the clinch.
Scacchi lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Richardson out cold! Richardson is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Brian Scacchi!
