Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Whelan (ranked 2173 p4p, 319 weight class) and Igor Vovchanchyn Ii (ranked 5567 p4p, 589 weight class). Whelan comes to the ring accompanied by Childish Gambino - Redbone (70s Remix). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whelan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vovchanchyn Ii. Whelan looks to land a right hand but Vovchanchyn Ii moved out of range. Some wild striking there from Vovchanchyn Ii.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vovchanchyn Ii throws a body shot but no joy. Igor Vovchanchyn Ii seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vovchanchyn Ii is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Vovchanchyn Ii fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Whelan manages to avoid it. Vovchanchyn Ii swings and misses with a shot to the body and Whelan scores with a counter punch that sends Vovchanchyn Ii to the canvas! Whelan smells blood - he's punishing Vovchanchyn Ii with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Vovchanchyn Ii has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sean Whelan! A very excited looking Sean Whelan rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
