Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dennis Dueck! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Weather! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dueck throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Weather. Weather fails with the takedown. Dueck takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Weather fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Weather shoots in for a takedown but Dueck shows good takedown defense. Dennis Dueck has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Weather. Weather shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dueck pinned against the cage. Dueck gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Dueck pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Dueck tries to clinch but Weather is having none of it. Weather shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Weather was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Dueck tries to hold on but Weather pushes him away. Weather is trying to control here but Dueck has managed to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Weather blocks the strikes from Dueck.
Dueck moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weather stopping the sweep attempt from Dueck. Weather trying to control the position from guard on top but Dueck is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Weather controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Weather trying to control but Dueck is working from the bottom. Dueck really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dueck is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dueck keeping moving, preventing Weather from controlling successfully.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Weather takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Weather shoots in for a double leg but Dueck sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Dueck misses with a head kick.
Weather fails in his attempt to clinch. Weather will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Weather looks gassed! Nice takedown defense from Dueck. No joy for Weather on that attempt. A slapping leg kick lands for Dueck.

Weather shoots in for a double leg but Dueck sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. The fight moves into the clinch position. Dueck breaks the clinch.
Dueck takes the fight into the clinch. Dueck's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dueck rushes Weather and presses him up against the cage. Weather breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dueck misses with a low kick. Dueck tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Weather is able to avoid easily. Dueck chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Weather can pounce on him.

and Dueck counters with a head kick. That will keep Weather thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Weather shoots for a takedown but Dueck saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Dueck throws a head kick but Weather moves out of range.

A low kick from Dueck misses and Weather counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dueck's guard now. Dueck controls Weather momentarily but Weather frees himself. Dueck working for a triangle but Weather defends it easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Weather trying to control the position from guard on top but Dueck is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dueck lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Weather! Dueck working Weather over with strikes here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dueck fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Weather. Weather on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Weather closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Dueck slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Dueck wants to sweep but no luck. Weather postures up.

Dueck stuffs the takedown attempt from Weather. Weather gets slowly back to his feet. A bone on bone clash there as Weather blocks the leg kick.

Weather fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dueck sprawls well initially but Weather persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Dueck is pressing down on Weather's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Weather working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Dueck controls Weather momentarily but Weather frees himself. Weather trying to control but Dueck is working from the bottom. Dueck will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Dueck misses with a body kick. Weather tries to clinch but fails miserably and Dueck counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Dueck misses with a leg kick. Dennis Dueck is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dueck gets cracked there but stands up to it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dennis Dueck will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

He shot from a bit too far out. Dueck dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Weather. That did some damage! A head kick misses from Dueck. Weather forces Dueck back against the cage and clinches. Dueck prevents the takedown attempt.

Weather clobbers Dueck with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Weather shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dueck as he avoids it easily. Dueck scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Dueck walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Weather checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. A low kick from Dueck is predictable there and Weather counters with a takedown into side control. Weather trying to control the position but Dueck is working away. Weather is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dueck sneaks back into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! John Weather comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Dueck has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
