Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monty Tallis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tana Umaga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Monty Tallis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tana Umaga!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Tallis.
Tallis has a takedown stuffed.
Tallis lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Umaga at a distance.
Umaga tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tallis swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Umaga stalks Tallis and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tallis's face. Tallis staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Monty Tallis has been cut.
Umaga moves into range and clinches up with Tallis.
Tallis can't break the clinch.
Umaga blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Umaga pulls guard effortlessly.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Umaga looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tallis is one step ahead there.
Tallis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Umaga has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tallis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tallis could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Tallis will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Umaga drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Umaga jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Umaga wants to control from the top but Tallis keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Umaga fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Tallis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Umaga throws a head kick that Tallis semi-blocks.
Tallis fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Umaga is out of range.
Umaga avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tallis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Umaga counters with a shoot takedown. Tallis fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Umaga is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Umaga tries to free his leg and advance position but Tallis is retaining full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Umaga gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Tallis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
A nice elbow there by Tallis.
Tallis content just to control the position here.
Umaga wants to control but Tallis is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Umaga is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Tallis throws a right and a left that Umaga avoids nicely.

Umaga misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Tallis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Umaga circles away quickly and effectively.
Monty Tallis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tallis takes a body punch but keeps moving.

and Umaga counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Monty Tallis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tana Umaga.
Tallis tries to close the distance and clinch but Umaga swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tallis shoots in and drives through. Umaga sprawls well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

BOOM! Umaga connects with a massive shot to the dome!
