Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksey Drubetsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrey Omoh!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omoh misses with a wild combination.
Drubetsky tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Drubetsky tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Omoh paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Omoh misses with a jab, cross combination.
Drubetsky fails with an attempt to clinch.
Omoh throws a series of punches but Drubetsky avoids them all with ease.
Drubetsky is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Drubetsky closes this distance looking for a takedown but Omoh circles away.

Omoh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Drubetsky throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Omoh.

Omoh tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Drubetsky smiles and moves away.

Drubetsky shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Drubetsky was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Drubetsky trying to control but Omoh is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Omoh tries to hold on but Drubetsky pushes him away.
Drubetsky trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Omoh is working to get back to half guard.
Drubetsky will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Drubetsky looking to control but Omoh is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Omoh throwing hammer fists to the chest of Drubetsky. What's that going to do exactly?
Omoh is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Drubetsky cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Omoh is bucking up trying to escape but Drubetsky cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Omoh wants to control but Drubetsky is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drubetsky scoring with strikes but Omoh is staying in there.
Drubetsky postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Omoh looks a forlorn figure.
Drubetsky really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Omoh keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Omoh in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Drubetsky is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Omoh can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Omoh tries to lock up and control but Drubetsky gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Drubetsky is breathing heavily.
Omoh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Drubetsky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Omoh fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Drubetsky misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Nice sprawl there from Omoh as Drubetsky shoots in.
Andrey Omoh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Omoh connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Drubetsky's hands.


It looks like Aleksey Drubetsky has been cut.
Drubetsky is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Omoh looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Omoh misses with a few strikes there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Omoh moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Drubetsky tries to clinch but Omoh is having none of it.

Nice combo by Omoh! Oh, that's hurt him - Drubetsky falls to the canvas and Omoh follows him into side control.

Oh Drubetsky is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Drubetsky tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Omoh presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Drubetsky is trying desperately to improve position.

Drubetsky has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Drubetsky is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Omoh looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Omoh is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Omoh connects with a nice short shot to Drubetsky's temple.
Drubetsky wants to improve his position but Omoh is controlling well.
Omoh lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Drubetsky is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Omoh trying to control the pace.
Let's hope that Omoh has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Omoh winds up and cracks Drubetsky with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Drubetsky is trying to control but can't.

Andrey Omoh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Omoh connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Omoh moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Drubetsky takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Omoh lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Drubetsky circles away quickly and effectively.

Omoh is trying to stall.

Omoh tries to clinch up but Drubetsky circles away and keeps his distance.

Omoh moves away from the strike by Drubetsky.
Omoh throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Drubetsky lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Omoh circles away quickly and effectively.

Drubetsky throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Omoh's waist but Omoh gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Drubetsky off to one side.

Drubetsky stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Omoh is looking to clinch.
Omoh feints and then cracks Drubetsky's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Drubetsky down.
Jab, jab by Omoh - just one landing.
Omoh throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Omoh swats away the attempt to clinch by Drubetsky.

and Omoh counters with a left and a right that stings Drubetsky.
Omoh lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Omoh connects with a crisp jab.
Andrey Omoh seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Omoh breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Drubetsky will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Omoh wants to get back to striking at distance but Drubetsky won't allow it.

Drubetsky is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Drubetsky goes for a takedown in the clinch but Omoh prevents it.
Omoh unloads a knee to the mid-section. Drubetsky lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Andrey Omoh comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Omoh has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
