Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Meridius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Sikes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Sikes is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maximus Meridius! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Sikes! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sikes tests Meridius's chin there with a solid looking shot. Sikes fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Meridius shoots in for a takedown but Sikes shows good takedown defense. Jab, jab by Sikes - just one landing. Meridius closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Meridius is breathing heavily. Meridius prevents Sikes from standing back up.
Meridius is looking to take a break and control but Sikes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Meridius missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Sikes slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sikes controlling Meridius's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Meridius trying to control the position from guard on top but Sikes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sikes is adopting a defensive guard. Meridius connects with a couple of short punches. Sikes preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Meridius trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sikes is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Meridius has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meridius wants to stand and escape but instead Sikes has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Sikes stays in close to Meridius's body and controls the position.
Despite being in the dominant position, Frank Sikes just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sikes lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Maximus Meridius has been cut. Meridius fails to land the takedown. Sikes cracks a nice hook into Meridius's ribs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sikes dips to his left and cracks Meridius with an uppercut! Sikes grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Meridius takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Sikes cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Frank Sikes!
