Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Medeiros (ranked 25068 p4p, 244 weight class) and Arnold Philips (ranked 3701 p4p, 142 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Arnold Philips was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medeiros misses with a head kick.
Philips gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Medeiros jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Philips walks away with a smile on his face. Medeiros gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Medeiros will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Medeiros takes an elbow to the forehead.
Philips will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Medeiros up against the cage.

Philips has Medeiros pressed against the cage, preventing Medeiros from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Medeiros drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Philips gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Medeiros has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Medeiros wants to get back to striking at distance but Philips won't allow it.
Philips has Medeiros pushed against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

A head kick misses from Philips.
Medeiros tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Philips defends well and Medeiros ends up having to push Philips into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Arnold Philips is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Medeiros shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Philips sprawls well. Philips wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Medeiros gets slowly back to his feet.

Medeiros tries to pull guard but Philips holds him up against the cage and eventually Medeiros drops back down to his feet.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Medeiros shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Philips as he jumps to the side.
Medeiros pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Medeiros slips a jab and a cross from Philips.
Philips throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Medeiros throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Philips's waist but Philips gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Medeiros off to one side.
Medeiros closes the distance and clinches up with Philips, looking for a takedown. Medeiros pushes Philips against the cage but Philips circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucas Medeiros. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Medeiros shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Philips defends it nicely.
Philips has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The fight stays on the outside here - Medeiros looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Philips lands a big head kick that sends Medeiros tumbling to the mat! Philips takes a step backwards and waves Medeiros back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Medeiros drops his hands momentarily and Philips needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Medeiros just on the top of the head. Medeiros drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Medeiros - he's done!
