Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raul Long (ranked 23922 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daemon Spast (ranked 5612 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raul Long! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daemon Spast! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spast moves into the clinch. Long gets control of Spast's arms and successfully pulls guard. Long will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Spast tries to stand but Long is controlling from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Long is controlling Spast's posture. Spast postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spast wanted to stand there but Long had control of the position. Spast throws a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Long manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Spast manages to get himself to full guard.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Spast is trying to hold Long in close to prevent damage but Long has managed to pass into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Long. Long looks to land a strike but Spast avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Long chips away with some ground and pound. Spast throws his legs up looking for a submission but Long uses it to pass to side control.
Long is putting a hurting on Spast here, landing some big shots from side control. Spast avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Long. Spast is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Long is one step ahead and moves to full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Long has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Spast's face.
Spast really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Long. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Spast is in a horrible position here. Long smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Long has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Long is working the ground and pound. Can Spast escape?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Long is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Long gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Long gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Long apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Spast gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Long to score an easy takedown into full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Long trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Long working some strikes from top position. Long is working Spast over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Long postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Spast wants to sweep but no luck. Long throwing strikes from guard but Spast blocks nicely. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Long lands a nice short elbow. Spast is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Long jumps into side control! Long cracks Spast with a big right hand but Spast just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Daemon Spast has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Raul Long is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Spast is covering up but some of the strikes from Long are getting through and doing damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Raul Long showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Long, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
