Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dave Brown (ranked 4402 p4p, 437 weight class) and Marius Wieneke (ranked 5390 p4p, 486 weight class). Wieneke comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Satyricon - K.I.N.G kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Dave Brown had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marius Wieneke! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wieneke closes the distance and pushes Brown back into the cage. Wieneke misses with a knee strike.
Brown breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brown closes the distance and clinches. Brown takes a shot to the head. A frustrated look appears on Brown's face as he tries to break the clinch. Wieneke tries a knee to the head but Brown blocks it.
Brown manages to break the clinch.
A low kick from Brown misses and Wieneke counters with a nice uppercut. Brown forces Wieneke back against the cage and clinches. Brown breaks the clinch.
Wieneke wants to clinch up but Brown keeps it at a distance. Brown tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Wieneke unleashes a big counter combination but Brown bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Wieneke has closed the distance and engaged Brown in a clinch.
Wieneke tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Wieneke throws a punch but it's blocked by Brown. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wieneke prevents Brown from breaking the clinch. Brown wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wieneke has him pressed against the cage. Wieneke using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Brown has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Brown breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wieneke forces Brown back against the cage and clinches. Wieneke is pressed up against the cage. Brown has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wieneke down to the mat. Wieneke avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown lands with a right hand. Wieneke moves into the clinch successfully.
A short right from Brown. Wieneke lands with a right to the head. A frustrated look appears on Brown's face as he tries to break the clinch. Brown wants to break the clinch but can't.
Brown manages to pull guard.
Wieneke missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Wieneke in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Brown working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wieneke. Wieneke tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wieneke accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Wieneke drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Brown dives on top into guard.
Wieneke had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brown defends it easily. Wieneke is working an open guard so Brown takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wieneke has Brown up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Brown escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brown misses with a head kick.
Wieneke tries to clinch but Brown is having none of it. Dave Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wieneke keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Brown. Wieneke displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Brown throws out the jab. Brown throws a lazy right hand but Wieneke sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Brown clinches up with Wieneke and pushes him back against the cage. Brown wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wieneke has him pressed against the cage. Brown wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A knee to the head by Wieneke.
I was talking to Brown's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Brown is trying to force a seperation but Wieneke has the dominant position. Wieneke trying to land knees to the body.
A nice left hand lands by Wieneke.
Brown has had enough of the clinch but Wieneke keeps him there for the moment. Brown breaks from the clinch.
Wieneke drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wieneke tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown tries to buck Wieneke off but Wieneke is having none of it. Wieneke is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brown is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Wieneke wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Brown, who protects the arm well. Wieneke is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brown has escaped the position, nice work there. Brown is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Wieneke tries to move into full mount but can't pass Brown's legs. Wieneke goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Brown has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Wieneke but great work by Brown. Wieneke manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Brown scoring with strikes to the body and head. Brown thows a huge punch but Wieneke dodges it nicely.
Brown throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brown has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Brown lands with some strikes. Wieneke regains half guard. Wieneke actively working from the bottom here. Brown decides to stand up. Wieneke rushes Brown and presses him up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dave Brown will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Brown throws a lazy head kick and Wieneke counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Whack! Brown lands a heavy head kick that drops Wieneke. The ref tackles Brown to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Wieneke was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Dave Brown! Dave Brown seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
