PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Just Whymer (ranked 1792 p4p, 277 weight class) and Atreyu Nakamotto (ranked 1295 p4p, 205 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Just Whymer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Atreyu Nakamotto!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Ron Honeybunn and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamotto throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Whymer swinging wildly here.
Nakamotto misses with a straight right.
Nakamotto jabs Whymer right on the nose. Whymer blinks but takes it well.
Whymer jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Whymer misses with a body shot.
Whymer keeps the fight on the outside.
Nakamotto throws a shot from downtown. Whymer moves away and avoids it.
Nakamotto takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Nakamotto doesn't manage to clinch there - Whymer circles away.

Whymer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That was a close round but I would say that Just Whymer will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

After winning the bout, Just Whymer thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
