The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marinho attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Soren Bjerg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bjerg fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Marinho to the ground. Bjerg is now in Marinho's guard.
Marinho is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marinho is on top in guard.
Marinho wants to control from the top but Bjerg keeps moving.
Marinho knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bjerg on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
