The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Wojtek misses
and Volkov counters with a series of strikes. Wojtek will be more careful next time no doubt.
Volkov lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

and Volkov counters with a stiff right hand.
Volkov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Wojtek quickly recovers to half guard.
Wojtek tries to kick Volkov off but Volkov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Volkov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wojtek does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

and Volkov counters with a shoot takedown. Wojtek fights it but they end up in guard.
Wojtek has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Volkov has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Wojtek tries to stall but Volkov uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Wojtek can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Wojtek just misses with a elbow thrown towards Volkov's brow.
Volkov can't find room to land a body shot as Wojtek controls the action.
