Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Martin Tomker (ranked 25035 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rukman Gunapala (ranked 4406 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Martin Tomker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rukman Gunapala! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gunapala throws the left hand but Tomker avoids the punch easily. Tomker misses with a takedown attempt and Gunapala counters with a right hand to the body. Gunapala throws an off balance right hand
and Gunapala takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Gunapala cracks Tomker with an open hand slap.
It looks like Martin Tomker has been cut. Gunapala waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Tomker. Gunapala throws an overhand right that lands on Tomker's shoulder, as Tomker tries to avoid the shot. Gunapala throws a big shot that misses. Gunapala lands an overhand right. Gunapala throws a lazy uppercut
and Tomker counters with a three punch combo that has Gunapala backing up. Gunapala nods at Tomker to acknowledge the strikes. Gunapala throws a jab when Tomker was well out of range. Tomker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gunapala circles away. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tomker steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gunapala. Gunapala looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tomker moves away from the strike by Gunapala. Tomker appears to be looking for a big counter. Tomker fails to land with a series of punches.
Tomker dives in and grabs Gunapala's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gunapala pushes down on Tomker's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Martin Tomker. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gunapala connects with a crisp jab. Tomker staying out of range there. Tomker throws a big counter combination but Gunapala scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Rukman Gunapala is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tomker scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Tomker has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gunapala finds it's way round the side to connect with Tomker's head.
Tomker is rocked! Tomker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gunapala. Oh Tomker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Gunapala swings and misses with a hook to the body.
It looked like Tomker was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Tomker seems to have got his legs back now. Gunapala is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tomker. Gunapala throws a hook but Tomker blocks it. Tomker is looking for a counter combo. Gunapala might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Tomker takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gunapala digs a good hook to Tomker's body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tomker slips a jab and a cross from Gunapala.
As Gunapala looks to move away, Tomker throws a big counter combo but Gunapala just gets out of the way. Gunapala with a hook. Tomker fails with the takedown. Gunapala shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tomker eats them both and turns towards Gunapala to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Gunapala lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Tomker at a distance.
Tomker tries to move into range but Gunapala moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. A looping hook to the body misses from Gunapala. Tomker does a little dance to reset his feet. Gunapala throws a big shot that misses. Rukman Gunapala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunapala throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Tomker tries to bum rush Gunapala with a series of wild strikes but Gunapala uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Tomker is breathing heavily. Tomker on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Tomker's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gunapala connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Tomker scrambles back to his feet. Gunapala cracks Tomker with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Gunapala has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Tomker to stand back up! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gunapala jabs at Tomker's body. Gunapala walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Tomker drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Gunapala swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Tomker's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rukman Gunapala! In his post fight interview, Rukman Gunapala started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
