Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between AC Slater (ranked 234 p4p, 35 weight class) and Solomon Kahn (ranked 284 p4p, 44 weight class). Slater comes to the cage accompanied by Stop What Ya Doin. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, AC Slater! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Solomon Kahn! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kahn scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Slater thows a left - swing and a miss! Nice straight punches there by Kahn. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kahn. Kahn misses with a jab to the body
letting Slater counter with a right hand. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Slater is defended easily by Kahn. Slater sets himself, and Kahn steps forward looking for the clinch! Slater avoids it this time. Slater gets the takedown into side control. Slater trying to control the action but Kahn is working from the bottom. Slater working the ground and pound. Kahn wants to get back to his feet but Slater drags him back down. Slater tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Kahn told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kahn wants to get back to his feet. Slater misses with the ground and pound. Slater lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kahn down.
Kahn is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Kahn bucks up and tries to throw Slater off but instead Slater has got his back! Slater misses with punches from the back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kahn is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Slater tries to get the hooks in deep but Kahn pushed the leg off. Slater is striking well from the back but Kahn escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being. Slater thows a huge punch but Kahn dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kahn is refusing to be controlled, as Slater sits in half guard. Kahn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Slater. Slater winds up and cracks Kahn with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Kahn blocking the ground and pound attempt from Slater. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Slater connects with a nice short shot to Kahn's temple. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Slater in particular looking to stall. Slater thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kahn is trying to stand back up but Slater is controlling him
Slater lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Kahn is trying to stand.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Slater missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kahn is trying to stand back up but Slater is controlling him
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Slater is just content to waste time from the top position. Kahn takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Slater is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Kahn wants to stand and escape but Slater is having none of it. Slater trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Slater seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Slater postures up and lands a big shot to Kahn's brow. Slater with a flurry of punches that miss.

Slater throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Slater in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kahn wants to get back to his feet but Slater is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kahn darts in and clinches Slater up against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kahn. A quick uppercut on the inside from Kahn. Kahn tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Slater's elbow. Slater wants a takedown but no success here.

AC Slater dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Slater throws a hook to the side of Kahn's head but Kahn sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Kahn looks like he wants to counter punch here. Kahn misses with a leg kick and Slater counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Slater walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Slater rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kahn moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Solomon Kahn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Slater checks a leg kick. Slater is looking for a counter combo. Slater looks to throw the jab but Kahn is out of range. Kahn throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Slater misses with a straight left. Kahn connects with a body shot that sends Slater's belly button to the back. Jab, jab by Kahn - just one landing. Kahn getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Kahn misses with a wild combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Slater takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

I was talking to Slater's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for AC Slater. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kahn tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Kahn working aggressively here.

Kahn cracks Slater with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Horrible takedown attempt by Slater or perhaps it was just good defense by Kahn, which made it look bad. Kahn closes the distance looking to clinch and Slater counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Solomon Kahn has been cut. Some wild striking there from Slater.
Kahn has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kahn connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Slater walks into a left hand. Kahn jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kahn misses the jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slater walks into a stiff left hand from Kahn. Kahn tries to clinch but Slater is having none of it. Kahn wants to clinch but Slater slips to the side and Slater counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Slater throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kahn. Kahn wants to clinch up but Slater keeps it at a distance. Slater avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Kahn scores with a hook to the body. Slater takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. AC Slater is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kahn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Slater paws at him with a jab and circles away. Slater swats away the attempt to clinch by Kahn. Kahn scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Slater moves forwards but Kahn connects with a nice, crisp jab. Solomon Kahn seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kahn misses with a lunging right hand
and Slater counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Solomon Kahn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Solomon Kahn's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Kahn counters with a stiff right hand. Kahn comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Kahn thuds his right hand into Slater's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Kahn misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Slater.
Kahn throws out a loose jab but Slater uses good head movement to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slater blocks a head kick by Kahn.

Solomon Kahn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Slater slips a jab from Kahn. Kahn lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Kahn scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Kahn tries a head kick but it misses.

Kahn stuffs the takedown. Slater fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for AC Slater. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kahn throws a good cross that connects.
Slater throws a jab when Kahn was well out of range. Kahn throws a lazy right hand but Slater sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A slapping leg kick lands for Kahn.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Slater. Slater is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kahn moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Kahn connects with a nice looking jab.
Slater slips a straight right by Kahn. Kahn tries to clinch up but Slater circles away and keeps his distance. Slater closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kahn circles away. Kahn is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Kahn just misses with a punch to the body.
Slater looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Kahn lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Kahn connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Slater displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kahn throws out the jab. Kahn scores with a nice right hand.

And that's the end of the fight! Solomon Kahn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kahn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
