The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maseco throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Neilson wants to clinch. Neilson throws a leg kick but Maseco moved away. Neilson takes the fight into the clinch. Maseco avoids the elbow strike from Neilson, against the cage.
Neilson is trying to drag Maseco to the mat but Maseco just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Neilson tries to land knees in the clinch but Maseco avoids the damage to the body. Neilson tries to score a body lock takedown but Maseco shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Maseco is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Neilson looking to stall.
Maseco wants to get back to striking at distance but Neilson won't allow it.
Maseco has had enough of the clinch but Neilson keeps him there for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maseco is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Neilson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Maseco up against the cage. Maseco managing to block the knees to the body from Neilson.
Maseco prevents the takedown attempt.
Reggienold Maseco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Neilson. Maseco wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Neilson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Maseco uses from the top position. Neilson has his foot on Maseco's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maseco works his way back into a safe position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neilson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Maseco controls the pace. Maseco avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Neilson is on top in guard.
Neilson with a flurry of punches that miss. Neilson throws a big right hand that misses. Maseco wants to sweep here but Neilson controlling him for the moment. Maseco pushes Neilson off and scrambles back to his feet.
Neilson looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neilson is looking to score with low kicks. Maseco misses with a few strikes there.
Maseco misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Maseco throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Bob Neilson has been cut. Neilson is looking to clinch. Maseco lands a nice shot that snaps Neilson's head back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Maseco drops Neilson with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Neilson! Maseco dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
