Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hollis Ford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tai Musaki !
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ford gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Musaki gets to his feet. Ford looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ford will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ford changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Musaki tries to avoid it but Ford manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Musaki to the ground. Musaki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
As Ford backs off Musaki throws a huge counter combo but Ford manages to avoid it all.
Tai Musaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown attempt by Ford or perhaps it was just good defense by Musaki , which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hollis Ford. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ford tries for a takedown but Musaki sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ford dodges the punch combination from Musaki .
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck for Ford with that takedown attempt.
Ford sets himself, and Musaki steps forward looking for the clinch! Ford avoids it this time.
Musaki misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ford appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Ford wants to clinch up but Musaki keeps it at a distance.

Musaki drives through and clinches with Ford against the cage.
Ford tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Ford tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Musaki smiles and moves away.
Ford lands with a kick to the temple. Musaki shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Ford gets tackled into the cage by Musaki . Musaki maintains the clinch.
Ford jumps into guard, dragging Musaki to the mat.
Musaki sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Musaki advances to half guard.
Ford looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Musaki has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Ford defend it? Musaki steps over the head and cranks it - Ford is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Musaki !
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tai Musaki !
