Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dillon Hernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Oscar Chow!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chow fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hernandez to the ground. Chow is now in Hernandez's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chow engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hernandez is looking to stand up but Chow isn't so interested in that idea.
Hernandez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Chow gets to his feet - Hernandez follows without any prompting.

Chow swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hernandez.
Chow works the jab nicely.
Chow throws a nice looking combination but Hernandez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
It looked like Hernandez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Chow decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Chow misses with a head shot. Hernandez uses the momentum to regain guard.
Hernandez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chow on the ground.
Chow controls from within his opponent's guard.

Chow stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Chow thows a leg kick but Hernandez checks it
and Hernandez counters with a left and a right that stings Chow.
Chow takes a kick to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hernandez works over Chow's head and body with a nice combination.
Hernandez fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hernandez blocks a leg kick.
Hernandez blocks a low kick nicely.
It looked like Hernandez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
No joy there for Chow, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hernandez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Chow lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hernandez.

Hernandez throws a series of punches but Chow avoids them all with ease.

Chow closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hernandez did well to prevent Chow getting side control.

Hernandez has one foot on Chow's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hernandez jumps guard but Chow stands there with Hernandez around his waist. Hernandez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hernandez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Oscar Chow will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Chow misses with a leg kick.
Hernandez seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Chow catches Hernandez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Chow throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hernandez counters with a series of strikes. Chow will be more careful next time no doubt.
Oscar Chow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hernandez, right into the meat.

Chow swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hernandez appears to be looking for a big counter.
Hernandez avoids a punch combination nicely.

Chow closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hernandez to the mat! Hernandez manages to get full guard.

Hernandez manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Oscar Chow seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Chow swings widly with a right hand
and Hernandez counters with a three punch combo that has Chow backing up. Chow nods at Hernandez to acknowledge the strikes.

Hernandez forces Chow back against the cage and clinches.
Hernandez is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Chow to keep the fight standing.
Hernandez tries to pull guard but Chow holds him up against the cage and eventually Hernandez drops back down to his feet.

Hernandez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Chow regains guard immediately.

Chow scrambles and gets back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chow closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hernandez to the mat! Hernandez manages to get full guard.
Hernandez wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Chow manages to pass to side control.


Chow stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

and Hernandez counters with a two punch combo.
Dillon Hernandez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Chow is breathing heavily.

Chow looks to land a combination. Hernandez sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Hernandez with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hernandez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Chow manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Chow takes a swing at Hernandez's ribcage but misses.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Chow.
Chow prevents Hernandez from escaping the position.

Chow has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Chow closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chow seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hernandez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Chow tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hernandez controls his leg.
Hernandez is trying to stand back up but Chow is controlling him
Chow throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Hernandez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chow pinned against the cage. Chow gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chow throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
It looked like Hernandez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Chow gets tackled into the cage by Hernandez. Hernandez maintains the clinch.
Dillon Hernandez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Oscar Chow is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Hernandez looking to throw knees to the head but Chow is blocking nicely.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dillon Hernandez.
I think Chow has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
