Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Korey Velez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brock Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Velez really is a fat lump.
Lesnar doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Velez counters by moving into the clinch.
Velez has Lesnar pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lesnar manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

It looks like Korey Velez has been cut.
Lesnar tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Lesnar is pressed up against the cage. Velez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lesnar down to the mat. Lesnar avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Velez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lesnar sprawls well initially but Velez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Lesnar manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Velez keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lesnar is trying to control the position but Velez postures up.
Velez is looking to stand up but Lesnar won't let him.

Velez stands and steps away. Lesnar gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Lesnar shoots for a takedown but Velez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A quick step to the side and Velez tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lesnar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Velez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lesnar somewhat.

Brock Lesnar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lesnar tries to grapple but his opponent circles

Velez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lesnar on the ground.

Lesnar shoots in looking for a takedown but Velez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lesnar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lesnar has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Velez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Velez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lesnar sprawls well. Lesnar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Velez gets slowly back to his feet.
Lesnar throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Lesnar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
