Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Arias! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rascal Donkashane! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arias throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Arias tries to sprawl but Donkashane drives through with a takedown into half guard. Arias is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Donkashane pulls his head out easily. Arias looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Donkashane is working for a kimura but Arias is defending it quite comfortably.
Arias wants to control but Donkashane is keeping busy and won't allow it. Donkashane is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arias moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Arias is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Donkashane wants to control from the top but Arias keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donkashane tries to free his leg and advance position but Arias is retaining full guard. Arias wants to sweep but no luck. Donkashane wants to control from the top but Arias keeps moving. Donkashane trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Arias throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Donkashane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arias swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Donkashane stands and throws Arias's legs to the side, diving into side control. Arias is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Arias is staying active underneath Donkashane, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Donkashane maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Arias could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Donkashane has cracked it and Arias is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Donkashane!
