Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, John Mangel and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones looks for the body kick but Godin saw that one coming.

Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Jones moves forwards but Godin connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Godin throws a good cross that connects.
Jones gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Godin.
Godin fails in his attempt to clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Godin goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Godin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Mack Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Godin swings for the body but Jones moves out of range.
Jones misses with a left hand
and Godin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Godin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Jones throws a series of punches but Godin moves out of range.
Godin lands with a nice combination. Jones backs away looking to recover.
Godin throws a body kick that misses.
Jones lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Cain Godin has been cut.

As Godin backs off Jones throws a huge counter combo but Godin manages to avoid it all.

and Godin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Godin appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Jones takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jones takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Godin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

The fight stays on the outside here - Godin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Godin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jones moves in looking to clinch but Godin pushes him off.
It looked like Godin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Jones misses with a low kick as Godin jumps back.
Godin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Godin moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jones throws a series of punches but Godin moves out of range.
Jones looks winded!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Godin misses with a hook.
Godin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Godin pivots, looking for a leg kick but Jones is out of range and Godin settles back down.
Godin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Jones thows a body kick. Godin tries to catch it but that hurt him.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters circle momentarily. Godin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Jones throws a right hand that Godin ducks under and follows up with a left that Godin also avoids with ease.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cain Godin will probably get the nod.

Jones goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Jones looks to land a combination but Godin avoids it well.

and Godin counters with a nice uppercut.

Godin misses with a straight right.
Jones moves out of range of the strikes.
Jones slips a jab and a cross from Godin.
Jones drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Nice defenses there by Jones.
Godin tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Godin circles away quickly and effectively.
Jones gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Jones throws a hook but Godin avoids it easily.

Jones has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Godin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Godin counters with a stiff right hand.
Godin uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jones has time to react.

Jones is rocked!
Jones is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Godin doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Jones crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Jones's bad books for that mishap!
