Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barry Biglad! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Augusto Carvarlo! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Topper Green and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Biglad scores with a three punch combo!
Biglad misses with a head kick.
Biglad closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Biglad really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Carvarlo trying to hold on to Biglad's head to control him but Biglad postures up.
Biglad is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Biglad scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Biglad controlling the pace. Carvarlo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Biglad. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carvarlo tries to get to full guard but Biglad has control of the leg. Biglad is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Biglad is thwarting Carvarlo's attempts to control the position. Biglad stalling. Carvarlo wants to control but Biglad passes into side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Carvarlo takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Biglad decides to stand back up. Biglad steps back and let's Carvarlo get back to his feet. Augusto Carvarlo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Biglad connects with a body shot that sends Carvarlo's belly button to the back. Carvarlo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Biglad manages to avoid it. Biglad closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Biglad is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Carvarlo looks calm but he's in trouble here. Biglad gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Carvarlo is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Biglad lets go of the hold and Carvarlo can pop his arm back in it's socket.
