Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jose Pacheco (ranked 3941 p4p, 180 weight class) and Mako Takaziko (ranked 21699 p4p, 278 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Jose Pacheco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mako Takaziko!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Takaziko tries to sprawl but Pacheco drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Pacheco controlling the action here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pacheco seems to be looking for submissions.
Takaziko is trying to stand up here but Pacheco is controlling him well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pacheco is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Pacheco seems to be working for a kimura but Takaziko defends the submission attempt.

Pacheco really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pacheco wants to work for an arm triangle but Takaziko is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Takaziko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pacheco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pacheco seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Takaziko for as long as he can get away with.
Takaziko is trying to control but can't.
Pacheco throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Takaziko is trying to stand up here but Pacheco is controlling him well.

Pacheco looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Pacheco has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Pacheco is looking for a kimura but Takaziko is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pacheco to get the leverage.
Pacheco is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Pacheco continues to stall.

Pacheco is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Takaziko sees it coming and defends easily.

Pacheco is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pacheco is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Takaziko has managed to free his arm - good work.
Pacheco is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Pacheco seems to be looking for submissions.
Pacheco sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Takaziko defending well though.
Pacheco takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Pacheco gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Takaziko shoots in for a takedown but Pacheco shows good takedown defense.
Pacheco darts in looking for a takedown but Takaziko gets double underhooks and turns Pacheco into the cage.
Takaziko wants to counter the offense by Pacheco and move into the clinch position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jose Pacheco dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Excellent takedown into side control there by Pacheco.

Pacheco tries for a kimura but Takaziko is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Takaziko's face as Pacheco controls the position.
Takaziko tries to escape but Pacheco is in control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Takaziko parries the strikes from Pacheco easily there. Pacheco is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Takaziko to escape.
Pacheco throws a strike aimed at the side of Takaziko's head but Takaziko avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Pacheco's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Pacheco in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Takaziko is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
