Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Harry Campbell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yajson Rram! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Campbell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rram has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Rram misses with a double jab.
Nice jab there from Rram. Campbell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rram but Rram pushes him off and we're back to square one. Rram swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rram throws a right hand that Campbell ducks under and follows up with a left that Campbell also avoids with ease. No luck for Campbell with that takedown attempt. Rram throws a counter combo. Campbell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Yajson Rram seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rram throws a big shot that misses. Campbell is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Rram. Campbell fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harry Campbell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Campbell wants to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Campbell is looking to land body kicks. Rram is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Campbell has taken the fight to the clinch.
Rram gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Campbell.
Rram breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Campbell misses with a low kick.
Rram unleashes a big counter combination but Campbell bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Excellent takedown into side control there by Campbell. Campbell tries to move to mount but Rram blocks the move with his legs. Campbell taking a breather here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Campbell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rram has escaped the position, nice work there. Rram is trying to work for a sweep but Campbell has mounted him! Poor strikes thrown by Campbell there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Rram's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Campbell looking to secure an arm triangle but Rram defends it well. Campbell has isolated one of Rram's arms. Rram looking to fight him off but Campbell twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
