Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Wazinsky (ranked 7304 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Sirck (ranked 23967 p4p, 0 weight class). Sirck has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Max Wazinsky has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Wazinsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rick Sirck! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sirck throws a leg kick and Wazinsky counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Sirck looks winded! Sirck looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Wazinsky looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Wazinsky with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sirck can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wazinsky controls the pace. Wazinsky in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wazinsky is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wazinsky wants to get up but he can't break Sirck's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Wazinsky has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wazinsky advances to half guard. Wazinsky controlling the pace. Wazinsky working Sirck over with strikes. Wazinsky knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sirck on the ground. That's three minutes gone in the round. Wazinsky is taking a breather. Sirck says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wazinsky's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Wazinsky closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sirck's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wazinsky is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Wazinsky gets to his feet. Sirck looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wazinsky closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sirck's guard. Wazinsky has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sirck is proving hard to escape from. Wazinsky seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Further stalling from Wazinsky. Wazinsky postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wazinsky changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sirck looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Max Wazinsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wazinsky controlling the position from side mount. Wazinsky tries for a kimura but Sirck is defending well. Wazinsky taking a breather here. Sirck is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wazinsky wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sirck, who protects the arm well. Wazinsky is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sirck knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Wazinsky decides to stand back up. Wazinsky steps back and let's Sirck get back to his feet. Wazinsky is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sirck can do to turn this around? Wazinsky misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wazinsky has clasped his hands together around Sirck's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Wazinsky staying calm. Sirck takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. A lull in the action here as Wazinsky stalls from top position. Wazinsky seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sirck for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wazinsky cracks Sirck with a big right hand but Sirck just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wazinsky shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wazinsky showed some decent athleticism there. Wazinsky lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Wazinsky content to control rather than advance. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Wazinsky dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Wazinsky moves into the clinch. Wazinsky turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Wazinsky remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Wazinsky could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wazinsky has knee on belly and moves into mount. Sirck takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Wazinsky wants to take Sirck's back here but Sirck is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Wazinsky looking to control and managing it successfully. Wazinsky has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Wazinsky looking to secure an arm triangle but Sirck defends it well. Wazinsky tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wazinsky landing punches. Wazinsky controlling the pace for now. Sirck has given up his back here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Wazinsky slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Wazinsky lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Wazinsky has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Sirck has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
