Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jose Romero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tepu Kerevi!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kerevi counters with a nice uppercut.
Romero moves away from the strike by Kerevi.
Romero displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kerevi throws out the jab.
Romero half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Kerevi lands a head shot.
Romero takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kerevi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Romero walks into a straight right hand from Kerevi.
Kerevi misses with a lunging right hand

and Romero decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kerevi's guard.

Romero stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kerevi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Romero is working hard here to advance position.
Kerevi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Romero. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Romero is looking to work some ground and pound but Kerevi has wrist control.
Kerevi can't keep his opponent in guard - Romero advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Romero not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kerevi wants to get back to his feet.

Romero seems to be working for a kimura but Kerevi defends the submission attempt.
Kerevi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Kerevi wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Romero.
Kerevi avoids a series of strikes thrown by Romero.

Kerevi is bucking up trying to escape but Romero cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Romero thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Romero cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Romero is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Romero has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kerevi is trying to stand up.
A nice elbow there by Romero.
Kerevi is still in real trouble! Can Romero finish him?

Romero postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Kerevi bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Romero and the fight is over!
