Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bart Contreras (ranked 8130 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Reigns (ranked 7054 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bart Contreras! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roman Reigns! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Contreras fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Reigns sprawls well initially but Contreras persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Reigns looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Reigns tries to get to full guard but Contreras has control of the leg. Contreras sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Reigns defending well though. Contreras lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Reigns is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Contreras scores with a couple of nice shots. Contreras thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Reigns wants to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Contreras connects with a nice short shot to Reigns's temple. Reigns wants to get back to his feet. Reigns wants to improve his position but Contreras is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Contreras stops Reigns from getting back to his feet.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Contreras sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Reigns defending well though.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Contreras closes the distance and clinches. Contreras is trying to break the clinch but Reigns has him pressed against the cage. Reigns dodges an elbow strike from Contreras.
Contreras misses with a hook to the ribs.
Contreras breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Contreras shoots in but no luck this time. Contreras looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reigns is fending him off so far but Contreras persists. Nope, Reigns circles away and we're back to standing. Reigns lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Contreras is defended easily by Reigns. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bart Contreras. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reigns shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Contreras is trying to defend but Reigns finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Contreras might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Reigns is looking for a kimura here.
Contreras wants to control but Reigns is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Contreras tries to roll over but Reigns keeps him under control. Reigns wants to free his trapped foot but Contreras is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Contreras wants to get back to full guard. Reigns trying to mount his opponent but Contreras defends it. Reigns is looking to take a break and control but Contreras is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Contreras actively working from the bottom here. Contreras trying to hold on to Reigns's head to control him but Reigns postures up.
Contreras really is a fat lump. Reigns wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Reigns is trying to control. Contreras wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Contreras is trying to stand.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Contreras fails to land the takedown. Contreras is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Contreras fails with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bart Contreras will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Reigns wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Contreras manages to pass to side control. Reigns manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Contreras shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reigns as he avoids it easily. That's one minute gone in the round. Contreras clinches. Reigns is looking for a takedown. Contreras looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Contreras scores with a shot to the side of Reigns's head. Contreras wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Contreras tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Contreras is trying to break the clinch but Reigns is controlling him. Contreras is working for takedown but Reigns is calmly controlling the position for now. Contreras tries to throw a body punch but Reigns avoids it by throwing Contreras back against the cage. Contreras lands a nice elbow. Contreras lands with a short punch from the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Contreras is trying to force a seperation but Reigns has the dominant position. Contreras wants to break free but Reigns has control.
Contreras jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Reigns walks away with a smile on his face. Contreras gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Contreras has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Contreras darts in looking for a takedown but Reigns gets double underhooks and turns Contreras into the cage. Reigns darts in and clinches Contreras up against the cage. Contreras jumps guard but Reigns stands there with Contreras around his waist. Contreras gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Reigns manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Reigns is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Contreras throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Reigns works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Contreras throws a big elbow that misses. Reigns is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Contreras postures up and lands a big shot to Reigns's brow. Reigns has momentary wrist control but Contreras slips an elbow through the middle. Reigns will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Reigns stuffs the takedown. Reigns stuffs the takedown attempt from Contreras. Contreras gets slowly back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Contreras keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Reigns displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Contreras. Reigns throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Contreras tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Reigns is in Contreras's guard. Contreras has a closed guard, preventing Reigns from standing up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Contreras looking for a sweep. Not yet Contreras, not yet. Reigns is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Roman Reigns comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Reigns has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
