Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Villarreal (ranked 5117 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Rogers (ranked 5297 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Rogers is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonathan Villarreal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Rogers! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Villarreal darts in and clinches Rogers up against the cage. Villarreal jumps guard but Rogers turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Villarreal has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rogers is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Villarreal tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rogers smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonathan Villarreal. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rogers blocks a head kick by Villarreal.
Rogers closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Villarreal to the mat! Villarreal manages to get full guard. Rogers trying to control but Villarreal is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Villarreal throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers controls the pace of the fight for a moment. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Villarreal is wriggling around but Rogers manages to pass to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rogers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Villarreal's head.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Rogers scores with a leg kick.
Villarreal gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Villarreal has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rogers uses from the top position. Villarreal throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Rogers is keen to just control but Villarreal is a slippery customer. Rogers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Villarreal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rogers blocks the strikes from Villarreal.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Villarreal is staying active underneath Rogers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Villarreal dodges the punch combination from Rogers.
It looked like Villarreal was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Villarreal closes the distance and clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Villarreal is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rogers to keep the fight standing. Villarreal is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rogers can't fight it off and eventually Villarreal manages to take the fight to the floor. Rogers looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Villarreal missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rogers is looking to stand back up but Villarreal counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Rogers. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Villarreal is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Villarreal is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jonathan Villarreal will probably get the nod. That's time! Villarreal's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Rogers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Villarreal's guard. Villarreal wriggles free and stands up. Villarreal has closed the distance and engaged Rogers in a clinch.
Villarreal jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rogers walks away with a smile on his face. Villarreal gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Villarreal gets caught napping as Rogers dives in and scores a takedown. Villarreal manages to retain guard. Villarreal wants to get back to his feet but Rogers passes into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Still in half guard, Rogers seems content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Villarreal misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rogers trying to control from Villarreal's half guard. Villarreal has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Villarreal trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Villarreal has his foot on Rogers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rogers works his way back into a safe position though. Villarreal looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rogers wants to control from the top but Villarreal keeps moving. Villarreal wants to get back to his feet but Rogers is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Villarreal is looking to cinch up a triangle. Rogers throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Villarreal's body to avoid the submission. Villarreal has instead reached around Rogers's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Villarreal arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jonathan Villarreal!
