Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Anderson (ranked 1049 p4p, 127 weight class) and Suren Nazarethyan (ranked 4416 p4p, 433 weight class). Nazarethyan has chosen Amerika as his entrance music. Sparky Anderson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
42 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Sparky Anderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
47 - 44 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Suren Nazarethyan! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nazarethyan fails to land with a series of punches.
Anderson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nazarethyan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Anderson. Nazarethyan takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. A combination from Nazarethyan does no damage. Good shot there by Anderson. Anderson misses with an uppercut. Anderson avoids the head kick by Nazarethyan.
Sparky Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nazarethyan takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like Suren Nazarethyan has been cut. Anderson scores with a jab to the head.
Anderson avoids the body shot from Nazarethyan.
Anderson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Nazarethyan sprawls and moves away. Nazarethyan shoots in for a takedown but Anderson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nazarethyan lands a nice hook to Anderson's body. Anderson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Anderson gets a clinch. Anderson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Nazarethyan.
Anderson is looking for a takedown. Anderson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Nazarethyan clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Anderson controlling well, preventing Nazarethyan from escaping the position.
Nazarethyan biding his time here by controlling the hands, looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Anderson slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Nazarethyan trying to control the hands but Anderson won't let him. Anderson throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Anderson punches the canvas rather than the man. Anderson really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Nazarethyan. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nazarethyan can't escape the position.
Anderson is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Nazarethyan defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Anderson's arms.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Anderson missing with punches from the back. Nazarethyan trying to control the hands but Anderson won't let him. Anderson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Nazarethyan is defending well though. Anderson let's go of the attempt for now. Anderson gets his hands free as Nazarethyan looks to control. What can Nazarethyan do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sparky Anderson! Sparky Anderson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. Suren Nazarethyan spoke after the fight, saying 'I Will Come Back Stronger Than Before'.
