The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wrecking Ball feints and then cracks Menger's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Menger down.
Wrecking Ball takes the fight into the clinch.
Menger looking for a takedown.
Wrecking Ball turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Wrecking Ball manages to end up in side control.
Wrecking Ball misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Wrecking Ball in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Wrecking Ball tries for a kimura but Menger is defending well.
Menger parries the strikes from Wrecking Ball easily there. Wrecking Ball is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Menger to escape.
Menger is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Wrecking Ball is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wrecking Ball postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Menger looks a forlorn figure.
Menger is still in real trouble! Can Wrecking Ball finish him?
Wrecking Ball lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Menger! Wrecking Ball sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Menger and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

After winning the bout, Boon Wrecking Ball thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
