Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luis Perez Saavedra (ranked 2847 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tobias Westmoreland (ranked 2936 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Luis Perez Saavedra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tobias Westmoreland! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Saavedra. Westmoreland is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Westmoreland tries to buck Saavedra off but Saavedra is having none of it. Westmoreland is trying to get back to his feet. Westmoreland tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Saavedra easily slips into full mount! Saavedra tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Westmoreland is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That's one minute gone in the round. Westmoreland regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Westmoreland is looking for a sweep. Saavedra is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Saavedra is taking a breather. Westmoreland says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Westmoreland kicks Saavedra off and gets back to his feet. Westmoreland rushes Saavedra and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Saavedra pulls guard. Westmoreland is fighting to break Saavedra's control of his arms but Saavedra is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Westmoreland missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Westmoreland wants to stand and escape but instead Saavedra has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Westmoreland keeping moving, preventing Saavedra from controlling successfully. Saavedra stops Westmoreland from standing up. Saavedra wants to stand but Westmoreland has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Westmoreland trying to keep a closed guard but Saavedra is proving a slippery customer.
Westmoreland is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Saavedra is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saavedra not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Saavedra prevents Westmoreland from getting back to his feet. Westmoreland being controlled here, momentarily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Westmoreland clinches up against the cage. Westmoreland is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Saavedra to keep the fight standing. Saavedra tries to pull guard but Westmoreland forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Saavedra tries to pull guard but Westmoreland forces him back to his feet, against the cage. That's four minutes gone in the round. Saavedra's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Westmoreland prevents a takedown attempt there.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Westmoreland creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Saavedra jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Westmoreland walks away with a smile on his face. Saavedra gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Saavedra is looking to clinch. Westmoreland shoots for a takedown but Saavedra saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Westmoreland tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Saavedra swivels and escapes. Westmoreland fails to land the takedown. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Saavedra slaps away a takedown attempt from Westmoreland, before circling back to the center of the mat. Westmoreland looks winded! Westmoreland closes the distance looking to clinch and Saavedra counters with a nice double leg into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Luis Perez Saavedra will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
No luck for Westmoreland with that takedown attempt. Westmoreland tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Saavedra manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. The fight stays on the outside here - Saavedra looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Saavedra is looking to clinch but Westmoreland is avoiding it.
As Saavedra backs off Westmoreland throws a huge counter combo but Saavedra manages to avoid it all. Saavedra takes the fight into the clinch. Saavedra drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Westmoreland trying to keep a closed guard but Saavedra is proving a slippery customer.
Saavedra throws an elbow that misses. Westmoreland uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Saavedra's guard. Nice move by Westmoreland! Saavedra has his hands on Westmoreland's head, controlling the position. Westmoreland wants to pass the guard but Saavedra is keeping the position. Saavedra controls Westmoreland momentarily but Westmoreland frees himself. Saavedra is looking to sweep but instead, Westmoreland has passed into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Westmoreland is looking to take a break and control but Saavedra is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Saavedra wants to get back to full guard. Westmoreland throwing shots but Saavedra is blocking nicely. Westmoreland prevents Saavedra from improving his position. Saavedra is defending against the submission attempts here by Westmoreland.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saavedra is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Westmoreland's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Westmoreland's back! Westmoreland tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Westmoreland working to try and regain half guard.
Westmoreland tries to lock up and control but Saavedra gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Westmoreland is trying to reverse the position but instead Saavedra has taken his back - oops!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Saavedra punches Westmoreland on the ear. Westmoreland looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Westmoreland is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Saavedra is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Saavedra working for a choke but Westmoreland is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luis Perez Saavedra dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Saavedra throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Westmoreland works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Saavedra's corner is telling him to maintain position. Westmoreland wants to control but Saavedra passes easily into half guard.
Saavedra takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Westmoreland is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Saavedra throwing shots but Westmoreland is blocking nicely. Westmoreland regains full guard. Nicely done. Westmoreland has momentary wrist control but Saavedra slips an elbow through the middle. Westmoreland not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Westmoreland is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Saavedra tries to stand but Westmoreland is controlling from the bottom. Westmoreland has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Saavedra can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Saavedra slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The fight moves into the clinch position. Westmoreland tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Saavedra can't get the takedown.

Westmoreland tries to score a body lock takedown but Saavedra shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Westmoreland lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Saavedra backwards. Westmoreland tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Saavedra smiles and moves away.
Saavedra shoots in and bounces Westmoreland off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Saavedra content to stall in guard here. Saavedra stops Westmoreland from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Saavedra pushes down on Westmoreland's leg and manages to get into half guard. Saavedra content to control rather than advance. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Westmoreland is pressing down on Saavedra's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Tobias Westmoreland has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Luis Perez Saavedra is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Luis Perez Saavedra overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Saavedra slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Westmoreland.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Luis Perez Saavedra. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Saavedra, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
