Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aleksandr Karelin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mister Kipling! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karelin thuds a left hand into Kipling's body. Karelin throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kipling cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Kipling throws a lazy right hand but Karelin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Karelin throwing a counter right hand but Kipling manages to avoid it. Aleksandr Karelin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Karelin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Kipling avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Karelin. Kipling trying to control here.
Kipling has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Kipling tries to roll over but Karelin keeps him under control. Karelin thows a huge punch but Kipling dodges it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kipling is defending against the submission attempts here by Karelin.

Karelin missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Kipling tries to roll over but Karelin keeps him under control. Karelin is controlling the pace.
Karelin with the ground and pound but Kipling uses the opportunity to regain guard. Kipling working for a triangle but Karelin defends it easily.
Karelin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kipling works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Karelin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Karelin throws a big right hand that misses. Karelin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Karelin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Karelin throws a strike but Kipling rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Kipling stops Karelin from standing up. Kipling pushes down on Karelin's leg and manages to get into half guard. Karelin wants to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kipling looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Karelin looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kipling trying to control the pace. Karelin is trying to stand back up but Kipling is controlling him
Kipling trying to control from half guard but Karelin is working away. Karelin wants to get back to his feet. Karelin is refusing to be controlled, as Kipling sits in half guard. Kipling might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Karelin haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Karelin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Karelin tries to get out of the position. Karelin tries to kick Kipling off but Kipling keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Karelin closes the distance and pushes Kipling back into the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kipling tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Kipling tries to pull guard but Karelin won't allow it.

Kipling jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Karelin walks away with a smile on his face. Kipling gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Karelin misses with a body punch
and Kipling counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Karelin thinking. Karelin is breathing heavily. Karelin shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Karelin tries to clinch but Kipling moves away and Kipling connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A swing and a miss from Kipling. Karelin misses with an uppercut
and Kipling connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Kipling drops Karelin with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Karelin looks back up at him and smiles so Kipling waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Karelin is rocked! Kipling ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Karelin's jaw. Karelin's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Kipling does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mister Kipling! Our winner, Mister Kipling, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
