Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Knife!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Drederick Tatum!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knife moves out of range as Tatum throws a body kick.
Tatum misses with a low kick.
Knife tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tatum swivels and escapes.
Tatum throws a nice looking combination but Knife bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Knife fails to land the takedown.

Knife changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tatum looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Knife grinds an elbow into Tatum's temple.
Knife is looking to take a break and control but Tatum is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Knife controls the position.

Knife looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tatum is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Knife has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Who's going to make the next move?
Tatum wants to control but Knife postures up.

Knife looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Tatum is trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Knife throws an elbow but Tatum slips to the side and avoids it well.
Knife in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Knife thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Knife is trying to get an arm triangle but Tatum is defending well.

Knife is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tatum has escaped the position, nice work there.
Tatum wants to get back to his feet but Knife drags him back down.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Knife wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tatum, who protects the arm well.
Tatum takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Knife wants to control but Tatum is keeping him busy.

Knife is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tatum is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Knife throwing shots but missing, from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tatum holding on.

Knife wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tatum, who protects the arm well.
Knife prevents Tatum from escaping the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tatum is not content to let Knife control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Knife dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Knife moves forwards but Tatum connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Knife avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Tatum misses with a wild combination.
Tatum avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tatum throws a sloppy head kick and Knife moves out of range easily.
A combination from Tatum does no damage.
Tatum rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Knife moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Tatum thuds a left hand into Knife's body.
A nice inside leg kick there by Tatum. That's going to slow Knife down.
Tatum throws a right and a left that both miss.
Knife seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Tatum shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Knife is backing up but Tatum catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Knife covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Tatum Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Drederick Tatum! Drederick Tatum retains his light heavyweight title!
