Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jared Meyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Farson!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meyer fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Meyer moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Meyer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Farson's waist but Farson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Meyer off to one side.
Farson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Meyer circles away.
Farson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Meyer as he avoids it easily.
Farson misses with a takedown attempt
and Meyer counters with a two punch combo.
Jared Meyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Farson.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Meyer jumps guard but Farson stands there with Meyer around his waist. Meyer gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Meyer tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Farson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Meyer after a bit of a struggle.

Meyer manages to pull guard.

Meyer looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Farson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Farson throwing strikes from guard but Meyer blocks nicely.
Farson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meyer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Farson has closed the distance and engaged Meyer in a clinch.

Meyer manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Meyer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Farson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Meyer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Meyer has escaped and now he's on top!

Farson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Jared Meyer will probably get the nod.

Meyer shoots in looking for a takedown. Farson tries to sprawl out of it but Meyer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Farson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

It looked like Meyer was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Farson.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Farson goes for a double leg but Meyer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Meyer continues to drive forward.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Farson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Meyer to the ground. Farson is now in Meyer's guard.
Jared Meyer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

As Farson tries to get set, Meyer tries to push him back and clinch up but Farson manages to avoid the attempt.

I would just about give that final round to Alex Farson.
