The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rude swinging wildly here.
Pfeifer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Rude definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Pfeifer pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rude back to the cage. Pfeifer follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Rude is looking to clinch but Pfeifer is avoiding it.

Rude uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Pfeifer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rude looks to throw the jab but Pfeifer is out of range.

and Pfeifer counters with a left and a right that stings Rude.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rude swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pfeifer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rude.
Pfeifer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rude throws an overhand right that lands on Pfeifer's shoulder, as Pfeifer tries to avoid the shot.
A swing and a miss from Pfeifer.
Rude forces Pfeifer back against the cage and clinches.
Rude wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Rude has a couple of punches blocked by Pfeifer.
Rude swings wildly with an uppercut but Pfeifer uses good head movement to avoid it.
Pfeifer blocks a punch to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rick Rude will probably get the nod.

Rude thuds his right hand into Pfeifer's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Rick Rude is winning the standup battle so far.
Jab, jab by Pfeifer - just one landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rude rushes Pfeifer with punches - Pfeifer moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Pfeifer goes down! Rude follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
